Cayman Private Drivers: Taxi & Transfer Website Design

How we built caymanprivatedrivers.com for AA Transportation, and what every taxi, airport transfer, private driver and tour company in the Cayman Islands needs on its website.

Cayman Private Drivers: Taxi & Transfer Website Design

Every day, visitors land at Owen Roberts International Airport or step off a cruise ship in George Town and need a ride. Grand Cayman has no Uber or Lyft, and taxis don't run on meters, so most travellers search for a driver before they even leave home. The taxi, airport transfer and private driver company with the clearest website is the one that gets the booking.

We designed and built caymanprivatedrivers.com for AA Transportation Service, a Caymanian-owned Grand Cayman driver company running since 1986. This post walks through what we built and why, and gives any taxi, chauffeur, transfer or tour business in the Cayman Islands a checklist for its own website.

About AA Transportation and Cayman Private Drivers

AA Transportation Service is a Caymanian-owned transport company that has been driving visitors and residents around Grand Cayman since 1986. Its drivers handle airport transfers, cruise port pickups, island tours and private driver hire, from George Town and Seven Mile Beach to East End and Rum Point.

Decades of word of mouth had built the business. What it needed was a website that could win the visitors who had never heard of it and were searching on Google from the US, Canada or the UK.

The challenge: winning the booking before the guest lands

A transport booking in Cayman is usually decided weeks before the trip, on a phone. The traveller wants three things fast:

  • A fixed price, because there is no meter and no ride-hailing app to compare
  • A driver they can trust, with real vehicles and a real local company behind them
  • An easy way to book, without downloading an app or filling in a long form

The website had to show the fleet, the services and the places AA Transportation drives, and turn a search for an airport transfer or private driver in Grand Cayman into a quote request.

What we built for Cayman Private Drivers

A custom, fast website, not a template

We built the site from scratch in Next.js rather than on a page-builder template, so pages load quickly on phones, including on hotel and cruise ship Wi-Fi. Speed matters for transport sites: a traveller comparing drivers will not wait for a slow page.

Eight clear services

Each service is laid out so visitors can find exactly what they need: airport transfers, cruise port transfers, island tours, private driver hire, corporate transport, dinner and event transport, VIP chauffeur service, and wedding and group transport. Clear service sections also help Google match the site to searches such as "airport transfer Grand Cayman" or "private driver Cayman".

The fleet, shown up front

A fleet section shows the vehicles (Chevrolet Suburban, Toyota Voxy and Toyota Hiace), so families and groups can see straight away that there is room for everyone and their luggage.

A Grand Cayman destinations map

A destinations map with drive times from the airport answers one of the most common visitor questions, "how far is my hotel?", before they have to ask it.

Quote and booking with no app to download

A short quote form returns a fixed price by email, with phone and WhatsApp alongside it, and a simple three-step "no app to download" booking path. Fewer steps means fewer visitors giving up halfway.

Travel guides, FAQs and local SEO

We wrote Grand Cayman travel guides and an FAQ covering the questions visitors actually search, like whether Uber and Lyft work in Cayman and whether to rent a car or hire a private driver. We also set up Cayman-focused page titles and descriptions for local search.

The result

The site is live at caymanprivatedrivers.com, taking airport transfer, island tour and chauffeur quote requests for AA Transportation across Grand Cayman. A transport company with four decades on the road now has a website that matches its reputation.

What a taxi or airport transfer website in Cayman needs

Based on this build, here is a checklist for any taxi company, private driver, chauffeur, airport shuttle or tour operator in the Cayman Islands:

  1. A headline that says what you do and where, such as airport transfers and private drivers in Grand Cayman
  2. One clear section or page per service: airport, cruise port, tours, events, weddings, corporate
  3. Your real fleet, with photos and how many passengers each vehicle takes
  4. A fixed-price quote form that takes under a minute to fill in
  5. WhatsApp and click-to-call buttons on every page, because overseas visitors often message first
  6. Drive times and destinations from the airport and cruise terminal
  7. Answers to visitor questions: Uber, tipping, car rental versus a driver, luggage and car seats
  8. Fast mobile pages, since most bookings start on a phone
  9. Local SEO basics: Grand Cayman place names in titles, descriptions and copy, plus a Google Business Profile

Why transport businesses in Cayman lose bookings without a good website

Many Cayman drivers rely on hotel desks, cruise ship staff and repeat customers. Those still matter, but more visitors now plan the whole trip online. If a traveller searches for a private driver in Grand Cayman and finds only a Facebook page or a listing on a big booking platform, they book whoever looks most professional, and the platform keeps a cut.

Your own website lets you take bookings directly, show your prices and fleet the way you want, and build a name visitors recognise when they come back.
